All The Goings On

My House
Bought it in '99 added a thousand sqft renovated the rest of it. Working alone on most of it then with friends helping. Of course my friends are pros and invoiced me plus made me buy the beer.
I did some cool and fun things with this house, The Bike Shed is well known in Richmond by not many people. But legendary for the "wrench for beer" pricing structure.
Raise panel system I designed goes together quick gives a small space depth, in the guest bath

simple exterior where I added a stone raised planter. Fish eye lens, the wall is level,

Checking Up On Things and Ending Where I Began

I had a warranty issue on the double deck porch I renovated a year ago. The pressure treated lumber that had to be used can sometimes be unstable and warp a little. Well one nonstructural member that holds a section of screen went crazy town and bent terribly. Fortunatly I was able to replace it without removing the screen.

This week I began a project on a home who's owner I've worked for over 20 years. It's fitting that I conclude my scheduled work in Virginia here before my move to California.

Cape Cod 2nd Floor Bathroom Renovation

Updating an existing 60 year old bathroom in the roof line of a Cape Cod style home is the second renovation I've done on the Pace's home. In 2009 I opened up the Kitchen/Dining room.

On this job I was lucky in that I was able to park a dumpster under the bathroom window and throw the old bathroom out of it. I like having a job where I can say "I threw the bathroom out with the bath water."

I worked alone on this renovation to this point, demo, framing, plumbing, insulation. I need help with first the electrical and now the drywall followed by tile installation.

In a couple of weeks I'll be back for trim and the fixture install.
