Bright And Right. This Bathroom Is Done

I've been commenting on how long this job has taken but really when I think about the amount of work that went into this bathroom, 6 weeks is not bad. It was brought down to floor joist and built back to a timeless elegance. My client loves it and I'm happy for that and really love working with her. Now go take a shower.

Man I Am Slammed

But it's getting done. The bathroom I started what seems like 6 months ago is coming together with tile going down this next couple of days. Then hopefully me getting on it to install a 15 light French Door to the connecting laundry closet and base Friday. Oh, and casing to the floor. I install all that after so the marble looking porcelain tile flows under the trim and not to it. I could have installed the trim and had the tile setter cut it in but this is the best look. It's about the way things look with me. It's hard to get these 100+ year old home to come together but it's so rewarding.
On top of everything that I've got going I installed a pocket door system up in Ashland the past couple of days. PAIN, but this is another good friend that couldn't get his regular guy to call him back. Guess I'm his regular guy now. Let's see, what else...porch steps repair, bathroom fixtures install, beam post install, then start the new job on July 12th. There went the summer. (Sweet)

So Old Its New

Friday

Beam Team

Beam is in place waiting for two steel columns to arrive. Once in place this will all support 12,000 pounds. Sounds like overkill but in this room alone we removed 3 dumpsters of plaster and framing material at around 4000 pounds each. Structural engineering rule of thumb; measure it, figure it, triple it.

Sunday

Phase 2 @ Park Avenue

Help was brought in to demo close to 7 tons of plaster and other 100 year old construction material. The cloudy photogrephy is really just dust in the wind.

In a couple of months this will be nearly 600 square foot of high end kitchen.
